《任氏传》与《西蜀异遇》是唐、宋传奇中人狐恋爱故事较为优秀的两篇，分别创造性地塑造了任氏与宋媛的形象。通过对比任氏与宋媛两狐女形象可以发现，她们超轶凡俗又笃于人情，一反以往狐妖鬼魅害人的形象。同时，她们的容貌、能力与生活习性稍异于常人，存有狐性。任氏美艳动人，贤德忠贞，宋媛勇敢主动，富于才情。两人同中有异，各具风骚。
《임씨전》여《서촉이우》시당、송전기중인호연애고사교위우수적량편，분별창조성지소조료임씨여송원적형상。통과대비임씨여송원량호녀형상가이발현，저문초질범속우독우인정，일반이왕호요귀매해인적형상。동시，저문적용모、능력여생활습성초이우상인，존유호성。임씨미염동인，현덕충정，송원용감주동，부우재정。량인동중유이，각구풍소。
Ren’s Fox Fairy and Fantastic Encounter in West Sichuan have been outstanding stories which describe human love with female fox in the legend of the Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty. The two stories create the image of Ren and Song Yuan. We can find that both of them are different from human but have sincere e-motion which are opposite to the past monster story. In addition, they have fox nature that their appearance, ca-pacity and life habits are difference from human. Ren is extreme beautiful, virtuous and loyal. Song Yuan is brave, initiative and brilliant. They are distinctive due to the same things and differences between them.
