The performance of a new collector, CY-12#, in reverse flotation at normal temperature was introduced. CY-12#displayed an excellent behavior in low temperature adaptability and selectivity in the commercial test in Jianshan Iron Mine, leading to an increased iron recovery by flotation at normal temperature, and a reduction in the consumption of reagents and coal, thus bringing about an annual economic benefits of ~29 million CNY. When CY-12#was introduced for the commercial test in the Iron Dressing Plant of Shandong Hualian Mining Co, efficient separation can be actualized with the pulp temperature varying from 35 ℃ to 22 ℃. When calculated by assuming that flotation was conducted at a fixed annual mean temperature of 25 ℃, a yearly economic benefits of ~5 million CNY can be expected.
