景德镇拥有千年的陶瓷制造史，如今是全球的艺术陶瓷研发基地、生产基地、采购基地和销售基地。但全国很多产瓷区的陶瓷都汇聚到景德镇，难免有搭乘便车的企业或产品；同时，艺术陶瓷的质量档次差距很大，以次充好的情况屡见不鲜；这些都给景德镇艺术陶瓷的防伪认证提出了要求。从防伪标识，到地理标志保护产品，再到如今的二维码和RFID技术在艺术陶瓷上的具体应用，景德镇陶瓷构筑了一个多层次的防伪认证体系。
