Human interleukin-21 (IL-21) is a type Ⅰ cytokine produced by CD4+ T cell, natural killer cell and T helper 17 cell.IL-21 receptor (IL-21R) is a typical type Ⅰ cytokine receptor, and can be expressed on most of bone marrow cells and lymphocytes.The binding of IL-21 and IL-21R has broad effects on both innate and adaptive immune responses.IL-21 has anti-tumor activity, and the strategy of combining IL-21 with other cytokines, antibodies, and vaccines is an effective and hopeful method on tumor theroputic.
