生物信息学是由现代生命科学与计算机科学交叉结合产生的一门新兴学科，在生物、医学、农业等领域有着极其广泛的应用，是目前生命科学最具活力的前沿领域之一，具有广阔的就业前景。本文针对目前国内生物信息学教学现状，结合生物信息学的课程特点，探讨独立学院开设生物信息学课程的必要性和教学思路。

Bioinformatics is an emerging subject produced by the integration of modern life science and computer science. It has the extremely widespread application in biology, medicine, agriculture and other areas. It is one of the most dynamic frontier fields of life science and has broad employment prospects. Aimed at the present bioinformatics teaching situation in domestic, combined with the course characteristics of bioinformatics, this paper discusses the necessity of independent institutes to set bioinformatics courses and the teaching ideas.
