The linear regression analysis has been made for the liquid limit and plastic limit of 22 171 clayey soil samples collected from Huanghua port coal harbor, which indicates good linear relation between the liquid limit and plastic limit of clayey soil. And the linear relation is shown in the range of liquid limit from 25.0 to 69.4 and expressed by the regression equationWP =0.388 9WL +5.338. The engineering practice verifies the applicability of the equation to the harbor investigation in the future.
