From the perspective of typology, this paper did a research of historic districts from different levels, discussing the typological method and its application processes in protection and renovation of historic districts. Then it analyzed the urban renovation case of Nanxin Bridge District, Shichang Road, Shengze Town, Wujiang City of Jiangsu Province, trying to put up a new idea of the application of typology in protection and renovation of historic districts.
