“和平与发展”是当今世界的主旋律，在全球化浪潮的不断发展和推动下，加深国与国之间的交往，而竞争与合作也给各国的意识形态带来挑战。当代中国正处于深化改革期，意识形态也面临着前所未有的挑战。以意识形态概念的溯源为出发点，梳理意识形态的历史流变。在此基础上，对当代中国意识形态面临的挑战进行分析，并以此为切入点，从功能的角度对当代中国面临的挑战原因进行探讨。
