白居易的《长恨歌》主题历来不乏争论,长诗创作于马嵬之变50年,此时唐王朝盛唐气象不再,藩镇割据和宦官专权成为中央集权和社会稳定的极大威胁.作者作为政治立场坚定的中央系的官员,站在中央集权的立场上,通过李杨情事,表现了对中央集权衰败的痛挽之情,实际上是一首一唱三叹的盛唐挽歌.

There has always been no shortage of controversy about the theme of Bai Juyi's"the Song of Everlasting Sorrow" which was created 50 years after the Mawei Incident,when the Tang Dynasty was no longer prosperous and the separatist regime and the eunuch became a tremendous threat to the centralization of power and social stability. With the author as a stand-firm political official of Au-thority Centralization,through the love story of Emperor Li Longji and Concubine Yang Yuhuan,"the song of Everlasting Sorrow"shows great lament on the decline of centralized power and is actually a piece of pure Tang elegy.
