随着高等教育竞争的不断加剧和高校尤其是地方高校应用型转型发展需求的日趋迫切，学科建设发展的质量与水平已经成为了高校提高竞争软实力的重要组成部分，成为影响高校尤其是地方高校专业转型发展、应用型人才培养和服务地方经济社会发展的核心要素。时值应用经济学作为校级培育建设学科项目启动之际，本文回顾近20年来我校应用经济学学科建设的情况，总结我校应用经济学学科建设中的经验与不足，进一步探索加强我校应用经济学学科建设的对策建议。

As competition in higher education intensifies,universities,especial the local ones,have an urgent need to transform into application-oriented universities. As a result,quality of the specialized courses that a university can offer has become the most important factor in the soft competitive edge of a u-niversity that will inevitably play a core role in the transformation process of the university,education of application-ready graduates and its service to the development of local economy and society. The present paper,by reviewing the development of applied economics as a major course at Chuxiong Normal University in the past two decades to mark the launch of this university-level course construction program,sums up both the experience gained and shortcomings identified and proceeds to explore path for further develop-ment of this course.
