American psychologist Erickson has a unique insight into the rules of adolescents' development and growth. In partic-ular, he proposed the self-identity theory which has described a prospect of adolescents' development. The theory has made a rel-atively lucid explanation on the formation and development of adolescent's personality and possible psychological problems in the future, having provided a new perspective for us to better study the growth of adolescents. With Erickson's self-identity as the theoretical basis, this paper attempts to clarify the enlighten-ment of the theory to the recovery of migrant junior high school students' self-confidence.
