随着我国英语教学的发展，如何将元认知理论运用到英语阅读教学中去受到了大量英语教学研究者的关注。本文针对湖北科技学院非英语专业艺术学院学生英语基础较弱，阅读水平不高的现状，以元认知为理论基础，借鉴国内外学者的学习策略训练模式对该艺术学院艺术专业一年级学生进行为期12周的元认知策略训练，旨在通过元认知策略训练增强学生的元认知意识从而提高学生英语阅读能力。

With the development and reform of English teaching in China, more and more researchers begin to concentrate on how to apply metacognition into EFL reading instruction. To deal with the current situation of low-level English proficiency and relatively poor reading ability of the students majoring in Hubei University of Science and Engineering, the present author conducted a 12-week metacognitive strategy training based on metacognition and learning strategy training models, with a view to improving the learners’metacognitive awareness and reading ability.
