脂肪组织不仅是能量储存器官，还是功能活跃的内分泌器官。研究已阐明，脂肪分泌的脂肪因子作为炎性因子参与机体的多种病理生理过程，促进代谢相关疾病（如肥胖、动脉粥样硬化、胰岛素抵抗等）的发生、发展。另外，脂肪因子还具有调节免疫的作用，参与风湿性疾病的发生、发展。研究脂肪因子的作用机制有助于认识风湿性疾病的发病机制，为治疗提供新的靶点。

Adipose tissue is not only a storage pool of energy but also an active secretory organ which is a potent source of cytokines called adipocytokines, taking part in multiple pathological and physiological processes as inflammatory factor,promoting the onset and development of metabolic diseases( such as obesity, atherosclerosis,insulin resistance,etc.).Adipocytokines can also regulate immune system,involved in the pathogenesis of rheumatic diseases.Therefore,studies about adipocytokines are helpful to understand patho-genesis of rheumatic diseases and provide potential target(s) for the treatment.
