朱熹与陆九渊的学术辩论是宋代以来中国哲学史上的重要事件，其中无极与太极的关系是双方辩论的问题之一。文章将其放到儒道关系的大背景中予以考察，并阐明这一问题所涉及的形而上哲理的一个侧面，即无极与太极关系所代表的道与物的关系的两种解释方向：本源论与本体论。

The academic debate between ZHU Xi and LU Jiu-yuan has been an important event in the history of Chinese philosophy since the Song dynasty .The relationship between infinite and supreme ultimate is one of the topics in the debate .This article ana-lyzes the debate under the background of the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism , and illustrates one of its aspects of metaphysical philosophy ,that is ,the two directions—cosmology and ontology —in explaining the relationship between Tao and ma-terial ,respectively represented by infinite and supreme ultimate .
