Through the research on the idea, assessment technology and item features of PISA mathematics literacy, the writer makes a suggestion of the basic mathematics education of China. The suggestion includes: to reinforce the research on the theory and practice of mathematics literacy, to build the whole teacher's development system, to enhance the training quality of in-service teacher, to emphasize the classroom teaching focus on developing student's mathematics literacy, to increase the content portion of data dealing, probability and statistics during the basic education period, to deeply mine the data pertaining to education and examination from various sources.
