The advantages and disadvantages of iron castings with resin sand and the causes of porosity defects have been brielfy introduced. The idea that how to prevent the formation of the porosity defects from raw materials, casting process and operation aspects has been put forward, and made examples in technology and operation aspects. After technology and operation improvement, there is no porosity in the Z503101 boring machine spindle box casting and the CW61100-1011/5M lathe bed casting, and all qualiifed.
