The weldability of 1Cr10MoVNbN steel used to make supercritical cylinders was analyzed and the repair welding procedure qualification was made. The results show the mechanical strength of the repair welds is higher than that of the base material while the toughness is lower than that of the base material, which is caused mainly by the low post-welding heat treatment temperature. The process flow of castings was modified tosolve the problem.
