On-site rapid testing technology can be used to screen soil samples in an industrial land investigation. This technology helps to reduce test costs and identify the approximate pollution condition, which saves time in survey work and improves its efifciency and accuracy. The principle, characteristics, and application of the detectors for volatile organic compounds and heavy metals were analyzed. The present application situations and prospects for on-site rapid testing technology were also discussed.
