坚持走中国特色自主创新道路，关键在于以全球视野谋划和推动当代中国马克思主义理论创新，而马克思主义理论创新内在包含既定的主体、路线、目标、模式、方法、价值标准和基本原理等。基于科学理论发展史视角，库恩范式理论对推动中国马克思主义理论创新队伍建设、意识培养、理论教育、价值取向、顶层设计等方面具有一定的启发意义。通过对中国马克思主义理论创新若干问题的范式诠释，弄清楚中国马克思主义理论创新范式的变迁逻辑和实践机制，可以为当代中国马克思主义开拓新的境界提供科学范式指导和经验借鉴。
