在弹词南词中，存在两种较为常见的曲调，一种唱“平调”，一种唱“平湖调”，前者为徵调式，后者为商调式。苏州弹词中的“三个腔系”，即陈调、俞调和马调，其中陈调分属于平湖调系统，俞调和马调分属于平调系统，弄清这两种曲调的区别，对于弹词南词研究以及苏州弹词的源头探析意义重大。（苏州）“评弹”称谓其本义，是唱“平调”弹词的简称。
在彈詞南詞中，存在兩種較為常見的麯調，一種唱“平調”，一種唱“平湖調”，前者為徵調式，後者為商調式。囌州彈詞中的“三箇腔繫”，即陳調、俞調和馬調，其中陳調分屬于平湖調繫統，俞調和馬調分屬于平調繫統，弄清這兩種麯調的區彆，對于彈詞南詞研究以及囌州彈詞的源頭探析意義重大。（囌州）“評彈”稱謂其本義，是唱“平調”彈詞的簡稱。
재탄사남사중，존재량충교위상견적곡조，일충창“평조”，일충창“평호조”，전자위징조식，후자위상조식。소주탄사중적“삼개강계”，즉진조、유조화마조，기중진조분속우평호조계통，유조화마조분속우평조계통，롱청저량충곡조적구별，대우탄사남사연구이급소주탄사적원두탐석의의중대。（소주）“평탄”칭위기본의，시창“평조”탄사적간칭。
In storytelling nanci, there are two common tunes, i?e. pingdiao tune of zhi mode and pinghudiao tune of shang mode. In the three systems of tunes of Suzhou storytelling, namely Chen, Ma and Yu tunes, Chen tune belongs to pinghudiao tune system while Yu and Ma tunes belong to pingdiao tune system. It is of great significance for the re?search on storytelling nanci and the probe into the origin of Suzhou storytelling to clarify the differences between these two tunes. The original meaning of the appellation of ( Suzhou) pingtan is singing pingdiao tune tanci for short.
