英国曼彻斯特大学与我国华中科技大学在通识教育课程的设置上各具特色。以两所大学具有代表性的机械工程专业为切入点，分析两所大学通识教育课程体系、内容。比较中英工科类大学在机械工程专业通识教育课程设计理念、培养目标、实践目的以及教学形式上的异同，给我国工科类地方性大学通识教育课程的改革与发展带来一些思考。
英國曼徹斯特大學與我國華中科技大學在通識教育課程的設置上各具特色。以兩所大學具有代錶性的機械工程專業為切入點，分析兩所大學通識教育課程體繫、內容。比較中英工科類大學在機械工程專業通識教育課程設計理唸、培養目標、實踐目的以及教學形式上的異同，給我國工科類地方性大學通識教育課程的改革與髮展帶來一些思攷。
영국만철사특대학여아국화중과기대학재통식교육과정적설치상각구특색。이량소대학구유대표성적궤계공정전업위절입점，분석량소대학통식교육과정체계、내용。비교중영공과류대학재궤계공정전업통식교육과정설계이념、배양목표、실천목적이급교학형식상적이동，급아국공과류지방성대학통식교육과정적개혁여발전대래일사사고。
The University of Manchester and Huazhong University of Science and Technology both have unique characteristics in general education curriculum .By setting the representative major mechanical engineering of two universities as a starting point , this article analyzes their system and content of general education curriculum ,and compares two universities'curriculum design idea ,training objective , practical purpose and teaching form of general education .T heir comparisons bring some thoughts to the reform and development of local engineering university's general education curriculum .
