Virtual assembly is one of the key technology of virtual reality technology, the application of vir-tual reality technology in the field of mechanical greatly promoted the rapid development of machinery indus-try. Based on powerful virtual reality software EON Studio as the research platform, MJ - 50 CNC lathe spindle box as the research object, and discusses in detail the connotation of virtual assembly technology, in-depth analysis of the mechanical product research and development in the process of actual production in as-sembly link existing problems. And virtual assembly of the spindle box as an example, through the use of EON Studio provides the function of the nodes and elements, easily realized the man-machine interaction, assembly sequence planning, collision detection, such as the key technology of virtual assembly, eliminating the tedious programming work, to solve the above problems, the results show that virtual assembly technolo-gy has broad prospects in enterprise product development.
