This paper expounds the concept of the biodiesel and the important significance of its technological application, and briefly introduces the production methods and technical characteristics of the first generation of biodiesel, focusing on the in-depth analysis and discussion on the technical route for the preparation of the second generation of biodiesel based on the catalytic hydrogenation process and the core technical problems needed to be resolved.
