The situation and existing problems of regulation work for NPP effluent monitoring in China are summarized .Combined with successful experiences in the field of environmental radiation monitoring and the requirements of the new environmental protection law ,objectives for nuclear safety and radioactive pollution prevention and control in the 12th five-year plan and 2020 vision are analyzed .Specific goals and suggestions are proposed for the regulation system building .
