白朴家族的兴盛伴随着金元政权的迭兴,也与其迁徙之地的地域文化有关.白氏祖籍隩州在北宋处于边境地带,文化落后,宋金易代之后当地教育发展,白朴伯父白贲与父亲白华得以考中进士.金亡之际,白华投宋降蒙的态度显示出其政治上的灵活性,体现出北方士人受到女真族报德观念的影响.金亡后白朴父子居于真定,史氏治理下真定繁荣的文化,元好问、史天泽等人对俗文学的关注造就了白朴的元曲成就.白朴晚年漫游江南各地,居于金陵,其词作显示出南方文化的影响.

In his late time, Bai Pu stayed around Jiang nan and choosed to live in Jin ling, thus it is easy to understand his writing was influenced by the southern culture.
