Comprehensive reform in universities is a hotly-debated issue in tertiary institutions in China. Based on the comprehensive reform plans made by four universities each with special features, the present paper made a comparative analysis and drew the conclusions on deepening comprehensive reform in Chinese tertiary in-stitutions mainly from four aspects: internal administrative structure reform, talent cultivation patterns reform, personnel system reform and research system reform.
