The real-time focus-measuring instrument of TFM that is designed on the basis of slot method has been used to measure the focus of digital X-ray apparatuses. The measuring conditions, measuring methods and measuring considerations have been described in detail and compared with those of other means of measurement. The results indicate that using the real-time focus-measuring instrument to diagnose focus of X-ray apparatuses is convenient and fast,accurate and efficient.
