中国与缅甸是山水相依的友好邻邦，有许多跨境而居的同一民族，基于这种民族亲缘关系，两国人民以"胞波"作为亲切的称呼，是意为兄弟同胞的缅甸语。进入21世纪，中缅政府为进一步传承与发展两国之间的胞波情谊，联合举办了中缅胞波狂欢节，为两国搭建起了文化交流与经贸合作的新平台，对中缅边境少数民族地区的文化、经济与政治都产生了深远的影响。
중국여면전시산수상의적우호린방，유허다과경이거적동일민족，기우저충민족친연관계，량국인민이"포파"작위친절적칭호，시의위형제동포적면전어。진입21세기，중면정부위진일보전승여발전량국지간적포파정의，연합거판료중면포파광환절，위량국탑건기료문화교류여경무합작적신평태，대중면변경소수민족지구적문화、경제여정치도산생료심원적영향。
China and Myanmar are friendly neighbors linked with mountains and rivers, and many cross-border neighbors are of the same nation. Based on this ethnic kinship, Baobo is affectionately called, which means fellow brothers in Burmese. In the 21st century, China-Myanmar Governments jointly hold Baobo Carnival for the further development and heritage of the friendship between two countries, building a new platform for cultural exchanges and economic and trade cooperation and having a profound impact on the Sino-Burmese border minority culture, economy and politics.
