Advantages & disadvantages and technical-economical properties of dynamic reactive compensation devices such as the thyristor controlled reactor ( TCR) , the magnetically controlled reactor ( MCR) and the static var generator ( SVG) are compared, to introduce the process of scheme design for reactive compensation with SVG by taking the reconstruction engineering of a main substation of Guangzhou Metro Line 4 as an example. The wiring scheme and the compensation capacity design are introduced, and the reconstruction effects are verified through comparison.
