明代统治者迫于倭寇的连连进逼，不得不大力发展水军，建立起较为严密的海防体系，并借鉴《孙子兵法》等兵学经典，研究和发展海防战略战术。虽说其间多有波折，并不能保持首尾一贯，但受此刺激应运而生的海防战略战术等，无疑极大丰富了我国古典兵学思想宝库。
명대통치자박우왜구적련련진핍，불득불대력발전수군，건립기교위엄밀적해방체계，병차감《손자병법》등병학경전，연구화발전해방전략전술。수설기간다유파절，병불능보지수미일관，단수차자격응운이생적해방전략전술등，무의겁대봉부료아국고전병학사상보고。
Facing the threat of the Japanese pirates’ continuous invasion ,Ming Dynasty was obliged to develop its water army ,built relatively tight coast defense system ,and used The Art of War for reference to study and de‐velop the strategies of coast defense .Although the process experienced many twists and turns and could ’t keep con‐sistent from the beginning to the end ,the coast defense strategies which were stimulated by the Japanese intruders at that time ,undoubtedly greatly enriched the thought treasure house of Chinese classical military sciences .
