萨迎阿任职新疆期间,非常重视历代西域碑刻的拓印,对于《裴岑碑》拓片在内地流传中的去伪存真及《伊吾司马碑》拓片的广泛流传作出了贡献.萨迎阿西域诗作抒发报国壮志、记载西域风土、描画西域城镇、记录文人交集,对于研究清朝晚期新疆社会、历史具有一定的认识价值.

During his service in Xinjiang, Sayinga attached great importance to the ancient inscriptions of Western Region, making great contributions to the verification of"Pei Cen Monument"in inland China and the widespread of "Yiwu Sima Monument". His poems express his patriotic aspirations, record the natural conditions and social customs in the Western Regions, describe the cities and towns there, and narrate people exchanges, which has certain values for the study of the society and history of Xinjiang in the later Qing Dynasty.
