本焕长老复兴临济宗的巨大贡献具体表现在两个方面：一是接续法脉，他继承了六祖慧能以后的传法方式，不仅承接了临济宗的传承，而且承嗣别传寺的法系；二是建寺安僧，本焕长老不惜身命，广建道场，安僧度众，重修祖庭、寺院近二十座，先后担任过多座寺院的方丈，创造了中国佛教界之传奇。

The sPecific contribution of Lin ji school of the elders Ben fan lies in two asPects:the fisrt is the con-tinuation of the Buddhist law and the methods governing. He inherited the Buddhist law of liuzu Huineng later,not only has the Linji school,but also obtains buddhism law of the bie chuan temPle. The second is the construction of the temPles. The Elder Ben Fan build many temPles at the exPense of life,rebuilt Zuting,temPle about 20,He had served as abbot of many TemPles,and had created the legends of the Chinese Buddhist circles.
