In the history of Chinese ancient fable , Liu Zongyuan is very important in that he not only developed Chinese ancient fable into an independent literature style , but also broadened the stylistic functions of the fables.It encompasses the idea expressions of dissuasion , criticism, illustration, and the emotional appeals of the implication , depth ,and temperance .His fables reflect his life experience and life sentiment , showing the double emotional appeal of individual indignation and self -identity.
