在全球化进程中,中国越来越参与到国际竞争中,中国的工程教育不可避免的面临来自工业界的新问题和国际工程教育的挑战,机械工程专业学生应具备什么样的工程素质和能力,如何培养这些能力,是我们一直在思考的问题.教育部实施"卓越工程师教育培养计划"以来,上海理工大学机械学院积极探索建立与上海理工大学办学定位和特色相适应的卓越工程师培养体系,为卓越工程师培养做出了努力,积累了一些成功的经验.

During the globalization process, China is playing an increasingly important role in the international competition. The Chinese engineering education is inevitably facing new problems from the industrial circle and challenges from the international engineering education. We have been considering these issues all the time:What kind of engineering qualities and skills should the students who major in mechanical engineering possess;how these abilities should be fostered. Following the "distinguished engi-neer plan"conducted by the Department of Education, the faculty of mechanical engineering of USST has actively explored to es-tablish the cultivation system that matches the school's orientation and features. The faculty has made great efforts to cultivate dis-tinguished engineers and has accumulated some successful ex-perience.
