This paper analyzes the achievements of current civil engineering construction over the years in China and makes in-depth study on the building materials, structure type, design theory and other aspects of current industry. On this basis, the author proposes the views on the future trends of the civil engineering industry as well as the development and application of emerging technologies. Civil Engineering is one of the oldest subjects, to understand its history and current development status allows us to better learn the civil engineering.
