Under natural conditions sand shows soft state, the cohesive force is very smal , close to zero;shear performance is very weak. The railway subgrade construction in desert area faces construction characteristics like fil er containing water loss quickly, difficulties of transportation and compaction. The railway sand roadbed proved to have good stability, smal set l-ement, water stability and fewer diseases later advantages in practice. This paper based on the engineering practice of rail-way sand subgrade foundation construction technology makes a deep exploration.
