Beginning with the situation of college English education, this paper clarifies the definition of critical thinking skills, illustrates the absence phenomenon of critical thinking in English learning, then analyzes that college students are generally starved of critical thinking skills through the problems of candidates in CET4 and CET6 listening test and proposes improvement suggestions.
