Sewage sludge production wil increase together with the increase of wastewater discharge, thus the sludge pol-lution problem should be solved as soon as possible. However, mechanical y dewatered sludge stil has a moisture content of almost more than 75 wt%, which cannot meet the requiremen-ts of the sludge treatment and disposal. Hydrothermal drying is an effective sludge treatment technology;it can improve the d-ewaterablility of sewage sludge with low energy consumption. The paper puts forward that the present situation and tendency of sludge front hydrothermal drying treatment technology of d-omestic and overseas, and discussed its developing trend.
