This paper has analyzed the concept of tacit knowledge, and described the important role of tacit knowledge in cultivating vocational skills from the theoretical and practical aspects. Tacit knowledge can not only improve the teaching quality and vocational competition quality of vocational schools, but enrich the content of vocational courses to promote cultural development of vocational education campuses. Because the proportion of tacit knowledge varies, approaches of cultivating professional skills should be different.
