The security of conditional access system is always a difficult issue in digital TV field. No matter whether the CA with smartcard or the CA without smartcard, basically lacks of effective measure to cope with. This article firstly expounds the working theory about the conditional access system and introduces the existing safety problems among different CA development mode, and then discusses the STB crack and CW sharing, together with their corresponding counter-measures. At last, it puts forward a scheme about STB's advanced security chipset, which can realize security and reliability of conditional access system.
