The laser welding technology, as an important modern fusion welding technology, is widely used in machinery, chemical industry, nuclear power, electronic industry, etc. It takes the laser beam as its main energy source, installs the laser directly on the welding junction, and realizes the automated high speed welding. Taking the 1Cr18Ni9Ti CO2 laser welding as an example, this paper researches and analyzes the process characteristics of CO2 laser welding and the influencing factors of welding quality, and carries on the welding experiment on the 1Cr18Ni9Ti material with different thickness. The results show that the thicker of the thickness, the smaller of the maximum allowable welding speed, the wider of the weld width.
