With the global positioning system (GPS) technology mature and popular, GPS has been widely used in all fields of national economy, in particular, in cadastral surveying. Application of GPS measurement technique will significantly promote the development of digital cadastral measurement technology of town and city full-resolution, and make the cadastral surveying automated and semi-automated and improve the construction and management of cadastral information of town and city. The paper focuses on the basic principle of GPS technology and its practices, work processes and control measures in cadastral surveying.
