In recent years, with the rapid development of social economy and a progress of science and technology, en-gineering measurement tools have also been updated. The total station instrument with a high level of automation and prec-ision has been widely applied in construction engineering. This paper carried out a comprehensive analysis of lofting techn-ique of total station instrument in the surveying area of com-plex engineering, hoping to bring economic and social benefits for the related project.
