To build a harmonious world of lasting peace an＆ common＇prosperity is the culmination of the 5000-year long history of China and constitutes the basis for formulating China＇s domestic and foreign policies. It is based on her wise judgment of the trend of the times in so far as peace, development and cooperation are desired. China has been constantly improving the perception of its own and the world and devoting to stronger interaction with other countries, aiming at shouldering greater responsibilities for world peace and development. The ideal of a harmonious world, which is an extension, world-wise, of the theory of building a harmonious society at home, embodies the ultimate concern for the humanity by a great developing country with a long-standing civilization, thereby contributing to the construction of a global political paradigm in the new era.
