The tubular shaft extension hydro-generating unit is an equipment with simple structure, excellent performance and convenient installation and maintenance, and it is suitable for low-head and high flow station. This paper studies the design and application of new self-contained shaft extension tubular hydro-generating unit, and demonstrates the advantages of this new unit with examples, in order to promote this new unit and reduce the cost and improve efficiency of local water conservancy and hydropower construction.
